Cyclones' left handed pitcher Chris Hilliard
Coney Island, Brooklyn, NYC– Chris Hilliard tossed six scoreless innings in the Cyclones’ home opener at MCU Park for their 10th season. Following Hilliard, Hunter Carnevale made his professional debut and pitched a scoreless seventh inning but gave up four runs without getting an out in the eighth. Nelson Pereira relieved Carnevale in the eighth and got out of the inning, and Johan Figuereo threw a perfect ninth to earn his first save.The Cyclones’ offense scored nine runs on nine hits, and registered nine RBI’s, while taking advantage of 5 Staten Island errors. Darrell Ceciliani, Jet Butler and Joe Bonfewere were the offensive force for Brooklyn,driving in two RBI and two hits each. 1B Jeff Flagg went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base, bringing his average up to .429. SS Rylan Sandoval and C Taylor Freeman also drove in one RBI a piece.
