The Yankees will be playing their third straight road game after the rainout of their home opener. They will be in Aberdeen for a three game set before coming back home for their home opener take 2 against the Rays single A affiliate Hudson Valley Renegades. Ripken Stadium is not too far from the Iron birds MLB affiliate’s home Camden Yards at Oriole Park. The home of the Iron Birds is only a short drive from downtown Baltimore.

Neither team has seen the pitcher that is pitching today as it only the third game of the season for the Yankees. Now hopefully the Staten Island Yankees have a little better luck with seeing pitchers for the first time than their affiliates in the Bronx do.

Here are the current standings in the McNamara Division of the New York-Penn League Courtesy of MILB.com :

NYP McNamara (click column headers to sort)
  Club  W  L  PCT  GB  *ELIM #  Home  Away  L 10  Streak
  Brooklyn 2 0 1.000 2-0 0-0 2-0 W2
  Aberdeen 1 1 .500 1.0 74 0-0 1-1 1-1 W1
  Hudson Valley 1 1 .500 1.0 74 1-1 0-0 1-1 L1
  Staten Island 0 2 .000 2.0 73 0-0 0-2 0-2 L2

At the moment Brooklyn is first place and Staten Island is in las with Hudson Valley and Aberdeen in the middle losing and winning one game a piece. The Yankees may be two games out but there is still a lot of baseball to be played this season.
