It was a pitching matchup in Aberdeen last night but the Iron Bird bats got the key hits when it counted and their pitching staff held the Yankees to no runs as the Yankees dropped to 0 – 3 in the McNamara division standings. The game was scoreless through six innings until Yankee reliever Ronny Marte gave up a two run homer to Iron Bird shortstop Garabez Rosa. Rosa’s HR was the defining blow that led to the Yankees defeat as Rondon received his first loss of the season and Aberdeen pitcher Kenny Moreland picked up his first win. The Yankees will have two more games in Aberdeen before returning home for their new home opener against Hudson Valley.

  1. The first win will come eventually. It’s too bad they have started the season out like this, but I am not worried about the Staten Island Yankees.

    • Neither am I. Even without the rainout they have a tough start to the season. 5 of their first 6 scheduled games are on the road. Hopefully a little “Home Cooking” on Thursday will bring good things.

  2. Nice logo! May I ask, did you use MS Word to make the images look 3d and tilted?
