ANOTHER NIGHT, ANOTHER TOUGH LOSS FOR THE YANKEES

The ball bounces from the glove of Staten Islands Carmen Angelini as Hudson Valleys Bennett Davis slides in safely to second base.

The Yankees looked strong through 2 and it looked like it would be a tight one down the stretch but then the 3rd inning came. The Renegades scored twice in the third and once in the seventh but they had enough runs to edge out this struggling Staten Island Yankee team. Although the Yankees lost last night they showed signs of a team that can be successful. Their starter gave them quality pitching and some let me reiterate some defensive plays were pretty impressive but they still aren’t playing as a team. The first few games of a season are tough for a new team but we’re approaching 10 games and this team does not look like they are meshing yet. It is still a young season but the Yankees better get on their horse if they want to make a bid at NYPL championship number five.

  1. Maybe they are just not good this year, it really doesn’t matter though because the minor leagues are meant for development, winning is an added bonus especially at low levels like single A.

  2. I was also referring to the baseball side of it. If there isn’t a winning team on the field then there won’t be fans in the seats.
