The Staten Island Yankees beat the Brooklyn Cyclones twice (and 4 out of five in the series) to bring themselves within 3 games of first place.  They are also 1 game behind the Williamsport Crosscutters for the Wild Card.

In Game 1, Adam Warren continued his dominance with a stellar performance of 6 shutout innings.  Luke Murton homered and drove in 2, as the Baby Bombers defeated the Cyclones 5-0.

In Game 2, Sean Black  followed up Warren’s performance with a gem of his own, going 5 innings and only allowing 1 run.  Fransisco Santana led off the game with a home run and the Yankees won 3-1.

The team will now begin a long roadtrip as they travel to Aberdeen, Williamsport and Oneonta.  The next home game is Tuesday, August 11th.

  1. Usually a team hopes to take 1 game out of 2 in a double header, but to take 2 is pretty damn good.

  2. This Adam Warren is pretty good in my estimation!!
