No baseball will be played at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark tonight and rightly so. Minor League Baseball is paying special tribute to the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by not scheduling any games for today. The Staten Island Yankees hope to never play baseball on this date again because of the ballpark’s proximity to the site of the World Trade Center. A memorial was erected outside the left field fence of the stadium and it outlines where the two towers formerly stood.

  1. R.I.P. 9/11 victims.

Today is a sad day for the nation, but we need to be strong and there is no point in having pity for ourselves.

The memorial outside Richmond County Ballpark is beautiful by the way.

    • I doubt that many people in our nation have pity for themselves. What I do think that the attack has made us stronger as a nation. The memorial outside the RCB Ballpark is a very touching gesture for the victims of 9/11.
