CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND PREVIEW

Brach (5-2) vs. Warren (4-2)

Brach (5-2) vs. Warren (4-2)

The Yankees and Scrappers turn to their aces in Game 1 of the Championship Series tomorrow night. Adam Warren (5-2) will go for the Yankees and Brett Brach (5-2) will get the ball for the Scrappers. The Scrappers haven’t played last Wednesday after sweeping Brooklyn in 2 games. The rest can either help them or hurt them as they go into a best of three series with the red hot Staten Island Yankees. If history repeats itself Staten Island should have themselves a fifth Championship because the record between the Scrappers record against the Yankees during the regular season is 0 – 3 in favor of Staten Island so Mahoning Valley’s chances of being 2009 New York Penn League champions look slim to none even with Game 2 and Game 3 (If Necessary) being in Mahoing Valley. Only time will tell who is crowned 2009 New York Penn League champions so all we can do is sit and wait until the series is over on either Tuesday or Wednesday (If Necessary).
