Staten Island, NY– Adam Warren gave the Yankees length and that is just what they needed out of him because the bullpen could use the rest after being worked hard during round one against the Lowell Spinners. Zoilo Almonte’s home run put the nail on the coffin for the Scrappers because at that point Staten Island was up 3 – 0 and the pitching was lights out all night. Every pitcher that toed the rubber for the Yankees tonight pitched scoreless baseball to put them in prime position as they head into Mahoning Valley for Game 2 of the Championship Series and the possible clinching game for Staten Island. Sean Flannery looked a little shaky out of the pen but kept he didn’t let the hits hurt him as he nailed down the save for the Yankees.

Here is the pitching matchup for Game 2:

Black (6-0) vs. Popham (6-1)

Black (6-0) vs. Popham (6-1)
